On Exhibit: Norristown Remembered: The Art of Frank Batson
The Historical Society of Montgomery County is pleased to announce a new exhibition in its gallery.
Norristown Remembered will feature Frank Batson’s paintings of Norristown and the surrounding region.
A Norristown native, Frank Batson has been interested in art for nearly all of his life. Batson graduated in 1954 from Norristown High School and many of his paintings are inspired by his memories of Norristown and the surrounding area from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Some of the buildings and places still remain. Other scenes are long gone, but Batson’s paintings bring these places back to life. Batson, now a resident of Worcester, paints from both photographs and personal memory to bring back these views of Montgomery County with remarkable accuracy.
The exhibit is open during our normal hours of operation and is free and open to the public.
