Photographing Cemeteries: A Photo Walk Through Historic Montgomery Cemetery

Bring your camera or your cell phone as we guide you through the art of taking photos of gravestones and cemeteries! This two-hour walking tour of Historic Montgomery Cemetery features various stops throughout the cemetery where you’ll learn a little about the history of the cemetery and get a chance to learn some photography tips. If you enjoy wildlife photography, the cemetery also has a variety of birds and mammals that may make a showing during our walk.  We'll be touring and shooting in the evening golden hour with hopes that we'll get a bit of sunset.

With almost 6,000 known burials, Historic Montgomery Cemetery holds the remains of some of the most prominent citizens, veterans and reformers in the county and nation. From five Civil War generals to many captains of industry, it tells the story of the nation through the lives it represents.

The entrance to Montgomery Cemetery is at the end of Hartranft Avenue, off of West Main Street, Norristown. Parking during the event will be made available inside the Cemetery gates.

There is no charge for this walking tour.   Spots are limited. To RSVP call 610-272-0297 or send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
