On Thursday April 20, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will open our next exhibit: The Historical Wedding Expo. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Weddings are often full of traditions, but have you ever thought about where those traditions originated? Many wedding traditions have been around for centuries, while others have changed over time. Even the iconic white dress was not always the color of choice for a bride’s wedding day. 

In this exhibit, we will investigate how weddings and wedding traditions have changed over time. Visitors can expect to see items such as clothing, photos, and portraits in our gallery. We will even be displaying a wedding dress made from a World War II parachute.

This exhibit opens at 5:00 PM on Thursday April 20, 2023 and will run through the end of March 2024. If you have not yet seen our current exhibit, Grandma's Attic, be sure to stop by HSMC before the end of March 2023!
