Biographical note: Main "Annie" Derr Slingluff was born February 6, 1868 in Norristown. She was the daughter of Henry Augustus Derr and Ellen Sullivan Derr. She married William Herman Slingluff. They had two children, Eleanor (1896-1970) and Marjorie (1900-1909). Main D. Slingluff died in 1938.

Scope and content: This collection contains twenty-seven handwritten diaries and engagement books kept by Main Derr Slingluff from 1907 to 1938. They describe her daily life in Norristown and mention many local people. In August 1909, both her daughters came down with typhiod. Marjorie died on August 30th. In Jaunary of 1918, Main herself contracted flu. Also included in this collection is a book listing the wedding gifts given to Eleanor Slingluff for her wedding to Frederick B. Little.
