As published in the Norristown Herald October 30, 1877, William Florence Slider died in Chester, PA., on the 23d being the son of Sarah and the late Luther Slider, in the 15th year of his age. Although his cause of death was not disclosed public information, it is evident that he suffered from a fatal illness due to the epitaph on his gravestone. Also, his mother, Sarah Ann Slider, had purchased a plot of land within Montgomery Cemetery in 1876 from Isaac B. Irwin, approximately one year prior to her son's death. He had siblings named Andora, Octavius, and Centora Slider. His brother Octavius had a son abt 1877, the same year of William's death, and had named him William Slider.
