Sarah was born on October 10, 1834 in Norristown. She was a graduate of the Oakland Female Institute in 1852. Sarah became the agricultural editor of the Farmer’s Friend and Grange Advocate, which was a publication concerned with agricultural affairs. Sarah married Jacob Lentz Rex. Later in life, Sarah was the director of the Charity Hospital in Norristown. Sarah had three children and was the first librarian of the Historical Society of Montgomery County. Sarah Rex died in 1914.
