David was born on April 18, 1842 to Samuel Beaver, Jr. and Elizabeth Brown. Raised in Norristown, David had the opportunity to attend the Treemount Seminary, a school of prominence located in Norristown, but mostly forgotten today. He would go on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, but the Civil War would prevent him from completing his studies. He served as assistant surgeon for the 41st PA Reserve Volunteers and 191st PA Volunteers. After the war, he returned to private life and completed his medical degree. After his return to Montgomery County, he met and married Mary Eliza Patterson. They would eventually have seven children. In 1870, he moved to Conshohocken where he would serve the community as a patient and caring physician for the balance of his days. David Beaver died November 17, 1923 of bronchial pneumonia.
