James G. Ralston married Anna on December 28, 1815. Anna was born on March 14, 1821. They were married on April 11, 1842. James was very well educated. He graduated from Princeton Seminary in 1841. He received his Jurist Doctorate from Lafayette College and his Doctor of Divinity form Washington and Jefferson College. He was an educator. He started several schools around the country. He founded the Oakland Female Institute in Norristown, which grew to some note, which drew students from every state in the Union, as well as Canada, Cuba, Great Britain, Germany, Greece and others. James attributed much of his success to his wife, who supported him in all of his endeavors. James Ralston died on November 10, 1880. Anna Ralston died on December 27, 1891.
